Cafe Chat

How does is make you feel to know that God has designated you as the primary instrument to reflect His love for your spouse? That is a great responsibility, and I pray that I can, and do reflect His love for my spouse. My husband is a wonderful man, and a great husband. He loves the Lord, and believes in Him. He has been saved and baptized. He use to love going to church, but then he changed. He had no interest in going to church at all. He did not want me going either. Of course, this was not a good time for our marriage. I tried to talk to him about it, but he would totally shut down on me. It really hurt me to see him this way, I was very worried about him. I prayed for him non-stop. Well recently, he finally opened his heart up to me. He explained to me what had made him change. I have several health problems, and I am not well quite often. He always takes such good care of me, and watches over me. But, he worries constantly about me. He said it hurt him that God would not answer his prayers concerning me. He said that he talked to God all the time, asking Him to please heal me, and let me be well. But, he said, instead, you suffer more and more. He said, why should I pray, God is not listening. So, I proceeded to tell him that God does hear his every prayer, and that God loves him so very much. I said, God may not answer your prayer when you want Him to, or how you want Him to, but I promise He does answer your prayers. I said, God never leaves me, or forsakes me. He hurts and suffers right along with me. He gives me strength to get better. When I am weak, He is strong for me. My husband said, I understand now, I really do. He is now back to praying, and wants to get back in church. We are going to start going to church with my dad. God is so awesome. Remember, our husbands are watching us, and seeing how much faith we have. Let your light shine brightly, never grow dim.

Oh, what a sweet hubby you have. God is watching. Our husbands are as well. And for those of us who have children they watch us interacting. We are their example of marriage. No marriage is perfect...but love covers over a multitude of sins. To sanctify our spouses through our faith we are told is what is possible! Wow! On the same wave length again sister...a blog next week about an aspect of marriage for me already written! Have a great Saturday!

What a lovely post Denise. I can feel your husband's hurts and concerns, and it's often hard to understand why God doesn't heal those we love. Cherish his love for you and cherish HIS love for you!

Awesome Denise! Great explanation and certainly shows that prayer has importance! You & Lovebug share together very responsibly this LOVE connection. I'm so sorry that he struggled thinking that to be true.
I'm glad you set him straight. Looking forward to that church gathering! May God's hand be upon each of you: Lovebug, your dad & you sweet one...blessings!Keep us posted!

Denise Happy new Year! It has been a while but you know what? Your beauty has not ceased to shine out of your posts. I am glad God blessed you with a man who is also beautiful inside...

See, in the parable Jesus told, the shepherd left the 99 sheep to go after the one. Your husband will be fine!

God bless you and him on this journey.

Love,
Sharon
