Cafe Chat

What is one thing you will commit to do in 2009 that will draw you closer to Jesus? (This is not a New Year’s Resolution) I commit to always putting Jesus first, He is the leader, I am the follower. Where He leads, I will follow. I will not stray off the path He has prepared for me. I do not want to be in control, I give total control to Jesus. Jesus keeps my mind clear, and my heart well protected for anything that may happen. I surrender all, now, and forever.

Hi Denise! We were just talking about this at our home fellowship tonight (New Years resolutions). It's really a battle of flesh & spirit. They are in constant war. So, what are we going to do? Feed our flesh or feed the Spirit? One is going to grow, and other will starve!

Most of my resolutions are already in practice, I just would like to improve them. I agree very much with your post, another reason to be in constant prayer.

I will make a new bucket list and not a resolution. As this is a healing process for me. And God has rewarded me very well in spirit for doing this. He gave me the gift of joy and happiness this year. It was something missing in my life.
Bless you my friend.

I thank God for a new year. A year to continue learning how to follow his lead.
I pray this year our lives will bring the Kingdom great glory.

Hi, sweet Denise! You have one of the most Jesus-filled hearts I know -- so full of love and praise and faith! You are such a blessing to those of us who know you.

You are right, Denise. I want Him to lead - although sometimes I am still a control freak *sigh*

Amen! Drawing closer to the Savior, reading His Word more, spending more time in prayer is not a resolution but a commandment from God. We just have to be obedient...I need some work in that area!

I am excited about 2009...after several years of battles, attacks and trials from the enemy...2008 was a blessing. On December 13, 2007...I was begging God to speak to me through His word one day after being beaten down for so long, I wanted to give up, quit but I was hanging on to my Savior's hand for dear life. He led me to Isaiah 61 and gave me that promise for 2008. Everything that we were praying and claiming in '08 except Brandon...He has brought to pass. AND...the year isn't over yet! Nothing is impossible with God, nothing is too difficult for Him and ALL THINGS ARE UNDER HIS CONTROL.

I love you, Denise! You have been the icing on my blessings cake this year...a bonus gift from God to me.

I am praying that God pours out so many blessings on you and your lovebug this year...you won't be able to contain even a small amount, my friend.

((hugs))
Jenn

Hey Denise,
Just checkin in with you.
I've been thinking about the whole resolution thing too...
I love what you wrote about putting Jesus first. -- I've seen some people put bumper stickers on their car that says something to do with the fact that God is their copilot... but LIKE YOU... HE IS MY PILOT...
Holykisses,
Lea
