Thankful Thursday- 5 senses

Hello my sweet friends, praying that God blessed you all with a wonderful week. This week Iris has chosen the topic 5 senses, how precious. I am grateful for taste, without it I could not enjoy my delicious hot chocolate with tons of tiny marshmallows every morning. Yummy in my tummy. I am grateful for touch, without it, I would miss out on the precious touch of my lovebugs hand in mine, there is nothing sweeter. I am grateful for the sense of smell, especially this time of the year. Gingerbread cookies, pumpkin pie, turkey cooking in the oven, woo hoo!! Just smelling all the goodies makes me gain weight, lol I am grateful for hearing, without it, I would have missed hearing my dear Saviour call me to His heart, and all the times He tells me He loves me. Also, I would have missed hearing my lovebug tell me he loves me, and asking me to marry him. Those two voices are a sweet, healing balm to my soul. But, even if I lost my hearing, I would forever hear them with my heart. Last, but certainly not least, I am grateful for my sight. Due to my diabetes, my vision is very poor. Everything looks blurry, and very smeared. They hurt constantly, but I can still see for now. I am legally blind, but that is ok with me. As my eye vision has grown dim, my heart vision has grown stronger, and brighter. I see people, and things, as they truly are. It is a beautiful gift from God to see the heart, not the outward shell. I am grateful for all the senses that You have blessed me with dear Lord, I love You.

I am so happy to hear that I'm not the only one who thinks about this! I literally praise God for allowing me to have all 5 of my senses. Every time I see a blind person or deaf person I am reminded of what a blessing they are.

We use our 5 senses every single day, but I always take them for granted. I love what you said about your sight. Although it is sad that your vision is not what it used to be, you have images edged in your heart for eternity...

Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us.

Be blessed today and always.

Thank you for posting your thoughts about your vision. My husband was born legally blind, and he often feels sorry for himself. I live my life to look at the positive in everything, but he does not see the positive. Through the power of technology (bioptics) he is now able to drive, he can SEE (more than some people can say), etc. etc. And I find myself reminding him of this often. I will be sharing your post with him. It is a very nice sentiment.

I love your posts. Today you made me think of how our sense of smell brings back so many memories that stir our hearts. The smell of Dial soap always reminds me of my nana and papa's seaside cottage.

I was just thinking about how thankful I am for my senses, especially lately with fall in the air. But you're right: our heart sense is the best gift of all.

God was so good when he gave we humans these senses!! I would really hate being blind..I guess of all of my senses I would not like that one. But if that is what God wants for me I would have to accept it. Great post...
