Topic: A time when you were a kid and felt a boost in your self-esteem... When I was in the third grade, my dad got sent away to prison. My mom was left to take care of me and my brother, my other brother and sister were married and living their lives. We were living in Alabama at the time, but when I finished the third grade, we moved to Tennessee. My mom had to work most of the time, and my brother was busy doing his own things. He is six years older than me. There was a lady that moved in next door to us, her name was Sue. She became my angel. She quickly reached out to me, and befriended me. She invited me to church with her, she was a Sunday school teacher. She was also a GIA leader(Girls In Action) and I quickly became very involved in church activities. I made alot of wonderful friends, and I was no longer lonely. I will never forget how this dear lady shared her love, time, heart, and home with a little girl who was in desperate need of friendship, and love. Thanks for boosting my self-esteem Sue, you were a true heart blessing to me.

Praise God for His ministering angels. That is so wonderful that you were ministered in such a difficult time and now you minister to others...fruitful seeds planted.
good morning! i have something for you on my blog today. enjoy!
This is wonderful. How gentle of God.
This woman did not only you but us a great service when she took you into her life.
I wonder if there is a little "Denise" living near you that could use the same thing.
What a special lady Sue is. I'm sure you're that mentor to others, too. I know you lift me just by your transparent, steadfast love of the Father.
Denise,
I love the way that God places people in our lives like that. And now you are such a blessing to others. (( hugs )) to you my sweet sis!
Oh this is so beautiful, I just want to reach out and give you a hug through the computer! Thanks for sharing this touching story.
I came here from Robin's Nest, glad I found your lovely blog.
Many sweet blessings!
What a wonderful and inspirational post!
Praise God for sending you someone who would make a positive impact on your life and boost your self-esteem. I tried to think back to my childhood and think of one self-esteem booster and I remembered two times - one was when a psychiatrist who treated me for depression told me that my faith in God would help me more than the antidepressants I was on, but that I needed to keep taking them - letting them do the physical work and Christ the spiritual. Another was my senior english teacher, Mrs. Welch. She always encouraged my writing and graded me with 100's and above on each and every piece I wrote. Along with her constructive criticism, she offered encouragement on one sheet of paper that said I would be a great writer one day. That made me feel like my life, which I felt was worth nothing at the time, counted for something.
Denise, I also wanted to thank you here for commenting on my blog post regarding politics. What you wrote is what's in my heart. I can only pray about it, you know?
