Thankful Thursday

Hello everyone, another thankful Thursday is here. Please take time to count your blessings, not just today, but each day that passes. God loves us so much, and He shows that love in countless ways. Just open your eyes, and take a look around. Do you have children running around constantly, making lots of noise, screaming your name out every few seconds??Mom!! Well, you are truly blessed by God, there are so many homes without children. Do you have a husband that loves you dearly, that makes you smile daily? Well, you are truly blessed by God, there are women who pray for a husband like yours, instead of the abusive husband they have, who brings tears to their eyes daily, instead of smiles. Do you have a nice place to call home? Well, you are truly blessed by God, there are so many homeless people, to them home is truly wherever they lay their head at night. Do you have a refrigerator full of food, that you fill your belly with at regular intervals? Well, you are truly blessed by God, so many people gather around dumpsters, praying to find a tiny morsel of food. Do you have a closet full of clothes? Well, you are truly blessed by God, there are people who would gladly take those jeans you may have only worn a few times, but are already tired of, and wear them with much pride and happiness. So, if you are having a hard time feeling blessed by God, then my friend, you truly have a problem. Count your blessings, not your problems. You will soon realize, that your problems are not so bad after all.

Amen! When you get my age with your babies all leaving home. You really understand how short the time we have with those screaming babies. I am thankful you and this very nice post today.

Very nice post. There are many times when I start to get upset because there are so many dishes to wash. Then I think, "Thank the Lord because that means there was a lot of food to eat." When there's a bunch of laundry, "Thank the Lord because that means God had graciously supplied beyond just your basic needs." And the list goes on.....

Amen girl!
It is important to realize the things that He has given us that we take for granted each day.
I think I got a little caught up in looking at the tiny details and forgot the big picture.
He is a good God. His plans for us are for good and not for evil...we can trust Him.
Thank you girl!

Yes.. Wonderful exhortation dear sister. Somtimes I stop and remind myself that if I never received another blessing from God-Jesus is enough. We have been given every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm. We are sitting with Christ in the heavenlies. That is SO MUCH that I never need grumble against these temporary trials here...And guess what He gives us both! so much to thank HIm for every day. Amen dear sister.

Thank you so much for all of your encouraging comments on my blog. I really needed to read them, so thanks for taking the time to write them. Also, I totally agree about counting those blessings, all to often we take them for granted...until they are gone. I want to appreciate all that I have while I have it. Thanks for the eye opener. Nice post!

Hey sweetie. This is an excellent thankful list. A real reminder to be thankful for what we do have.

I still don't have my post up yet. It's been a crazy day here at the learning center and now I just got a call I'd better run to town and get gas because there's no more coming for several days because of the refineries being shut down.

So, off I go to fill up my wheels - for which I am thankful.

Love you!

Denise,

We all have much to be thankful for. When we are feeling down we only need to think of those less fortunate than we are and count our blessings.

Take care and let me know how you're feeling.

Oh so true! I know of several women who have abusive husbands and won't leave their situations. It breaks my heart, and I know I am truly blessed with mine. Thanks for pointing these things out for us.

Denise,
You are right! Earlier this summer, a friend of the family was surprised to learn that her husband had not quit dating after he got married. I am so thankful for a man that values our marriage!

Have a great weekend!
