Mission 4 Monday-Diabetes Awareness

Hello my dear friends, praying this day finds you doing well. The mission that I would like to talk about today, is diabetes awareness. As most of you know, I have diabetes. My sister and I are both type 1 diabetics. My dad, and brother are both type 2 diabetics. My oldest brother passed away on June 8th of this year from diabetes, he was only 56. He was also a type 1 diabetic. My uncle passed away in July of this year from diabetes, he was a type 2. So, as you can see, this disease truly runs in my family. Diabetes is a serious, and sometimes devastating disease. I am now watching my sister suffer from kidney failure, due to her diabetes. Through the years, diabetes has caused her to have heart problems, nerve damage, hearing problems, eye problems, she even lost a toe because of diabetes. I will be 45 in November, but I feel much older because of the health problems diabetes has caused me. I have 4 heart blockages, kidney damage, I am legally blind, nerve damage in my hands, feet, and stomach. I am determined to fight this disease with all I have. I will fight in my brothers memory, and for the battle my sister is fighting. I will be walking in the diabetes walk in Chattanooga Tennessee on October 11. Please, if you feel lead, click on the link on my sidebar, go to the site, and make a donation. It is more than a worthy cause, it is my hearts cause. Prayers for a cure would be much appreciated. Blessings to you all.

How cool that you are going to do this walk.
It is a very important cause. So many have this "disease".
Hope you are having a great Monday!

I am praying for you, dearest Denise. My heart goes out to you and your family. Diabetes runs in my family too. Both my parents, my sister and quite a number of uncle and aunties have diabetes. Thank God for preserving you and sustaining you, and strengthening your faith in Him despite all the pain and struggles with diabetes. Truly God is your refuge and strength! Thanks for all your prayers and encouragements. I love in Christ too. Take care and have a blessed day!

What suggestions would you have for someone who has Diabetes Type 2and yet lives as though they are in denial.

Thank you Denise. I've been there done that with that person and still the denial. You did enlighten to me that it could be fear. I appreciate that. I hadn't thought about that. It has helped.

Hello my sweet Denise...thank you for sharing again on my Mission4Monday! I
knew that the DIABETES was a near and not so dear mission of your life and I'm so sorry for all the family members that this has encumbered and affected! I pray that they all know Jesus like you and if they have half the positive attitude that you share and show...God has to turn this around! What a great idea that you are joining in the walk and asked for others to support the Diabetes Foundation. This is indeed a great mission and you have fought the hard fight. I pray for a cure or a miraculous healing would be great!!
WE will praise and thanks Our Lord
for each and every member of your family to find his healing power!

May God continue to use your life as a witness to His Grace! Cling to HIM Denise and hold on for a healing!!! May the Tennessee Walk for Diabetes be a huge success!
