Remember Them

Today is Memorial Day, please do not just think of it as a day off from work, or a day for a picnic. Take a moment to remember all service men and women, past and present. Think of all the sacrifices that have been made, so that we can be free. Some gave all, all gave some. I have a nephew who is in the army, he is in Iraq for the second time. I have another nephew serving in the navy, he is in Afghanistan. I am so very proud of both of them, and I thank God for watching over them. I pray that God continues to keep them, and all the others serving our country safe. Please take time today, to say a prayer for our country, and all those that so willingly serve it.

Good happy Monday dear Denise! What a heartfilled tribute. I love this. And I love the fact that there continues to be "Under God" on so many tributes. It's all a heavy, endearing part of life that when there is talk of 'taking that out', it just tends to send chills of disbelief that so many would even consider such a thing!

May your nephews be held in the safety of His hands and come home to you all....

Happy Monday♥

Hi, Denise! Sorry that I have been so absent lately. I am feeling better though and more in control of things around here. But of course, we know who is really in control, don't we? That makes it always easier to bear when things get tough. :o) Thank you so much for posting this. I always think of my Daddy on Memorial Day and what he sacrificed to go to Vietnam even when he didn't believe in the war. Just went to do his duty and fight for his country. What a blessing to have a country that is free!

Love you, my friend,
Julie

If you have a loved one who is serving or who served and died while performing his or her duty, this day takes on a whole new meaning. It isn't just a day for a nice picnic. I can only imagine the daily trepidation your nephews' mothers go through.

Jesus,

Please guard our service personnel. Though they willingly place their lives on the line and would give their lives to defend their nation we ask Your blessing upon them all. We ask Your strength, peace, and power be upon their families. We thank You that You died to give us the ultimate freedom from sin, and we thank You that others sacrifice in order to keep the freedoms of this country that so many take for granted. We ask blessing upon them and their families. In Your precious name. Amen

Amen girl!
I have a nephew over in Iraq.
I thank God for keeping them safe and free!
It is funny how in the change of heart in our nation that all of a sudden what was right is wrong and what was wrong is right.
May our service people always know we are remembering them in our prayers.

I will take time to pray for all those serving and who have served. My hubby is in the Army and right now safely at home, but this changes all the time.

Amen and amen my friend. My nephew is in the Army too and my brother is a Gulf War vet of the Marines and we have an active duty friend at our church as well. You don't have to support the wars our country engages in but you DO have to SUPPORT and be THANKFUL for our troops and their families for their service and sacrifice. God bless!
