In Other Words Tuesday

Much of our difficulty as seeking Christians, stems from our unwillingness to take God as He is, and adjust our lives accordingly. We insist upon trying to modify Him, and bring Him nearer to our own image.
~ by A. W. Tozer ~ As Christians, we sometimes forget a very important fact. We were created in Gods image, not the other way around. He was not created to be like us, we were created to be like Him. In the classic hymn, have Thine own way, it says: have Thine own way Lord, have Thine own way, You are the Potter, I am the clay, mold me and make me. Understand? He formed us in the image that He wants us to be, we need to stay yielded to His way. We need to quit trying to conform to the worlds image for our life, and stay where we know we should be. Why do we always think there is a better way? God knows what is best for us, He will never lead us astray. I intend to let the Potter continue to mold me throughout eternity.

I love this line: "We were created in Gods image, not the other way around."

Very strong words, and something for me and all of us to remember daily!!!

Thanks for the inspiration today.

Very true Denise! God is God and who know the mind of Him! He is far above anything we could make him! Praising him for that!

That is a very powerful quote this week. It is so true - we try to press out own will and not listening to His guidance.

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on the quote, Denise.

Be blessed today and always.

I don't know why it's always so hard for me to say "Have thine own way" I know He wants what is best for me, but for some reason the idea of letting go of all control is a scary feeling.

How often lately does my mind try and figure Him out.....sad.
I am soooo glad that He can not fit into any mold my mind tries to put Him in. His ways are so much higher than mind.
