Memory Verse Monday

The aim of "Memory Verse Monday" is to:1. Memorize a passage (or passages) of scripture.2. Share why you have chosen the verse, or verses that you have.3. Encourage one another with what God has been saying to you through this verse.4. Share the ways in which you find remembering verses works for you. Last week I memorized: We love because He first loved us. If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. – 1 John 4:19-20 If we cannot love one another, how can we possibly love God? We must try to show love for our brothers and sisters, that is what God expects from us, and that is the least we can do, after all that He has done for us. This world is full of hurting people looking for love, a safe haven. We need to reach out with open arms, invite them into our family circle, the precious family of God. To truly love God, you must love others, for God is love. This week I choose to memorise: But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You. For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield. (Ps 5.11-12) Stop by next Monday to see what God has been saying to me about these verses.

LOVE these verses, my friend. I SO needed them today. You are right, Love is what it is all about, isn't it? How easily we forget that.

Love you,

Julie

Good verse. Sometimes it's hard to love our "brothers", maybe even those in our own families that we say we love. I'm participating in Memory Verse Monday too. We say we love God, but love is patient and kind. I'm learning I have a long way to go to understand the true meaning of love. I'm glad for God's grace. It starts in our homes - and like you said, then we can reach out to others with open arms and show them Jesus.

In Christ,
Susan

Love is so powerful!
My favorite part about it is that "it never fails!"

Beautiful Denise!!! [I'm just seeing the sidebar graphics. They're so darned cute!!!]

Hope your evening is a pleasant one, peaceful and filled with love.

Our company finally left yesterday and I am now trying to catch up on my blogging friends. I missed being able to flit across blogland and send along some smiles and receive smiles while visiting. :o)

Sometimes you need a shield when you reach out to love some people. ;)
It is a good thing we come ready equipped.
He is the shield of my heart. Because of that I can love freely.

Hi Denise, What a great Bible verse this is for us today! I loved it! Thanks for your visit! Since you were over reading my post I added more and Nancy wanted you to know that I wrote about her!! The next door neighbor sent one of his sons over with a big plush toy doggie for her that was red and white! She just loves it! She has it siting on her bed!
I will be so glad when the laptop is fixed and I can get back to posting almost daily and giving out the awards and doing my meme I have been given!! But on the other hand this has been good for me because I have been able to catch up on some stuff I needed to get done! and read a couple if books!! Love and hugs Carolyn

I've been seeing "joy" or "joyful" a ton in my readings of the Bible lately. I think God is speaking to me about finding joy in whatever circumstance which is before me, and you are such a grand example of that, Dear One.

Good Morning Denise,
I am trying to catch up with everyone this morning. I got up feeling some better and did a new post. This is such a wonderful post my friend. LOVE is a wonderful thing and it is so hard sometimes to love one another. We let the Devil take over and we must stop to remember WWJD? I hope you are having a good day thus far. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.
