10 Minute Tuesdays

Alicia, over at faithfulchick says: Have you ever been reading your Bible or a devotional book (or any inspirational book for that matter) and had one of those light bulb moments, where something clicked or made sense for the very first time? Or, had a moment where you felt so convicted by what you just read that you had to glance at your chest to see if someone had shot you with a dart? Or, felt such joy, peace or contentment that you thought you would burst right then and there?Aren't those the most amazing and breathtaking moments?10 Minute Tuesdays are all about sharing those moments. In a way, this will be an interactive devotional. A blog-back devotional, if you will.I have had moments in my living room, during my quiet time, when God has spoken to me in such a mighty way that I wanted to call my man and my best friend IMMEDIATELY, just so they can feel what I am feeling. Quiet times are precious moments when God can deal with us in a very private and emotional way, but there are times when you may want to shout out what you learned during that very quiet time.Every Tuesday, let's meet here. I will have a short passage of scripture waiting for you (maybe even just one verse). This is what I ask of you...- Read the scripture posted on this blog.- Turn the ringers off on your phones and eliminate all distractions (or at least all of them that you possibly can).- Set a timer for 10 minutes.- During that 10 minutes, meditate on the scripture.- Go back to your blog and post a response to the 10 minute meditation. God's word for you today:
Do not withhold your mercy from me, O LORD; may your love and your truth always protect me. For troubles without number surround me; my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see. They are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart fails within me. Be pleased, O LORD, to save me; O LORD, come quickly to help me. May all who seek to take my life be put to shame and confusion; may all who desire my ruin be turned back in disgrace. May those who say to me, "Aha! Aha!" be appalled at their own shame. But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation always say, "The LORD be exalted!"Yet I am poor and needy; may the Lord think of me. You are my help and my deliverer; O my God, do not delay.
- Psalm 40:11-17: Wow, such powerful verses, and very timely for my life right now. It does seem as if troubles are surrounding me, and I cannot see. Sometimes I worry that my heart may fail me, but all I have to do is cry out to my dear Father, and He comes quickly to help me. He clears away all of my confusion. Satan trys to tear me down with sickness and disease, but I rebuke him in the precious name of Jesus, and send him back to hell where he belongs. Jesus died, so that I could live. By His stripes, I am healed. Thank You Jesus, I love You.

That is what I have. I am only 29 and I actually thought it was menopause because of an endometrial ablasion that I had done a couple of years ago. I had read that the POS can actually cause sudden weight gain and it is very hard to lose it. I hope this helps me I feel like a big ol bag of blubber and I hate feeling this way. Thank you for your prayers!!

Good Morning Denise,
I so love this post today. I actually had one of those moments when GOD spoke to me on Thursday night. We were watching our local news about the Tornado victims up in Mt. View, AR. When they started talking about the Pack a Pickup Event on Friday, GOD spoke to me quickly. I actually felt it in my heart. He told me to go and buy some things for them. I know it was GOD telling me this. I was so convicted that we went and done what he told me to do. It may have not been much, but every little thing will help out. At the time, I just wanted everyone here in my town to go out and buy some supplies for those in need. I wanted to call the Mayor, but he has an ulisted number, so I couldn't call anyone. I did tell people about it that I came in contact with tho. "THANK YOU" for sharing this with us. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

Denise, that is a very profound and poignant entry.

We've had some heavy storms move in our area today so I'm running behind visiting. Thanks for the comment.

Have a peaceful evening.

Great truths!
You keep speaking that out loud. Let it go out of your mouth-into your ears and down into the very marrow of your bones.
You inspire me.

Denise, I have left an award for you over at my blog! Thanks for all your encouraging words!

Good for you Denise! Sometimes we have to speak out loud and rebuke the devil. I've done it many times and then start singing praises to God. The devil flees because he can't stand to hear us praising and thanking God Almighty.

Denise, what a wonderful post. I am often in the grip of worry or anxiety, which is just veiled fear of one sort or another. God is bigger than my fear, and He certainly doesn't want me to be mired in it.

Thank You, Jesus, indeed.
