Faith Walking -Devotional One

Faith Walking* What do you think freedom in Christ means?* Do you feel like you’re living a life that is pleasing to the Lord, or do you think He expects you to do more for Him?* What does it mean to be saved by faith and not by works? The Next Step: Read the entire book of Galatians! Read, as you would your favorite novel, and enjoy the Word of God like never before. Do you not have the time? Are you busy balancing work or chasing kids around the house? Well, stick your Bible in the bathroom and read one chapter a day between now and next Thursday. There are only six chapters! You can do it! Take in the Word and let God’s truth bless you.: I read the entire book of Galatians this week, and was blessed by it. Now, to answer the questions. 1)What do I think freedom in Christ means? Before I was saved, I was living in the prison of sin. I was shackled down by life's burdens, but then Christ lifted those burdens, and removed my shackles. He opened my heart, and released me from my prison. Sin no longer rules my life, Christ rules it. Amen!! 2)Do I feel like I am living a life that is pleasing to the Lord, or do I think He expects me to do more for Him? I try my best to live a life that is pleasing to my Lord, but I do think that He expects me to daily do all I can to show His love and compassion to others. I need to encourage others, help carry others burdens, and give much love to others. He never wants me to stop doing His work, and I never want to stop. 3)What does it mean to be saved by faith, and not by works? Baptism does not make you right with God, and neither does membership in some church or another. The only thing that can help you is to become a “new creation” in Christ Jesus. You must be born anew in Him, and THEN you have standing with God, because of what Jesus has done for you, and me. There is no other way.

Denise, I was encouraged by your answers and reminded again of His truth. It never ceases to amaze me how God can speak again and again to my heart on things that I already know and believe. Thanks for being an instrument of His peace and grace in my life!
