In Other Words Tuesday

"The Word of God well understood, and religiously obeyed, is the shortest route to spiritual perfection. And we must not select a few favorite passages to the exclusion of others. Nothing less than a whole Bible can make a whole Christian."~ A.W. Towzer ~ Could you imagine just having half a body? One leg, one arm, one eye, ect. Life would be so different, and quite challenging for you. Well, if you are daily going through your life, without the word of God hid in your heart, you may as well only have half a body. You are not a completely whole person, just because you have memorized John 3:16 When you are planning a trip, do you only take half of the map with you? Of course not, you take the entire map, in order to be able to reach your destination. My friend, heaven is a real place, and if you wish to reach your final destination, you must read, and follow the entire road map, which is the word of God.

This is really good. I enjoyed it. You are exactly right. We do need to read and learn all the parts. Thanks for that information today!

Good illustrations Denise - to be complete, we need ALL of the word and to get to our heavenly destination, we need the whole map!

This is true, my friend! How often the word of God gets neglected, thank you for the friendly reminder!

I'm heading off now to put on my other leg before my day goes any further! Thanks Denise!

I have used the map illustration in a little way... how would it work if you were on a trip and took the wrong map? This is what we do when we look at the world through our culture, our own thoughts and, yes, even Scripture-bites.

I have quit having my daughter memorize single verses of Scripture. We sometimes memorize sections of Scripture, but I would way rather her spend those special times in the Bible chewing on the word... and you know, sometimes she memorizes Scripture despite me! :o)
