In Other Words Tuesday

Jesus simply did not want Martha to be so caught up in kitchen service for Him, that she missed out on the joy of living room intimacy with Him. The quote at the top of this post is from the book by Joanna Weaver, Having a Mary Spirit: Allowing God to Change Us from the Inside Out : In this world today, we all get so caught up in the daily merry go round that is our lives. We tend to run around like chickens with our heads cut off, trying to accomplish as much as we can in 24 hours. We barely stop to catch our breathe, and then we are off to the next task. I know God must be saying: Hello, remember me? I am the one that gave you life, could you spare a moment of your time for me? I would really enjoy some fellowship with you. Come on ladies, we need to slow down, and get our priorities in order. We must begin to put God at the top of our list, not somewhere in the middle, or bottom. I would rather be sitting, and worshipping my God, than doing anything else. House hold chores are important, and they will get taken care of, but my God comes first.

I love the Mary and Martha story. I can see myself in both of them!

I love this thought. If we do not live each day with purpose it does end up being a round and round in circles kind of day, doesn't it?
