Faith Lift Fridays

Faith-Lift Fridays:This is my first time participating.

Encourage others and yourself. Share a favorite scripture, devotional, quote, hymn...whatever has strengthened your faith and encouraged your heart.:Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. (Ps 116.15):Last April, my dear momma passed away. Before her death, I was her only caregiver, until the last month before she passed away. At that time, hospice came into our home to help out. They were all so helpful, and very kind to my momma, myself, and my husband. They told me that my momma would go through different stages before passing away, that her body was preparing to shut down. Hearing this, and watching her slowly fade away was heartbreaking. But, at the same time, I saw such a sweet peace coming over her. We had bought a baby moniter, so that when I had to be in another room, I could hear her in case she needed me. Toward the last few weeks of her life, at night I would hear her talking to her sister, and mother. Both of them had passed away years ago, my momma had been very close to both of them. She sounded so happy and at peace when she would be talking to them. She would even laugh, and joke around with her sister. I asked the hospice nurse about it, she said it was normal for this to happen. She said momma was in what they call the twilight phase, she was preparing to die. She said alot of patients begin to talk to relatives, and friends that have already passed away. They come to show them home, so they will not be afraid. My hearts prayer is that when my twilight time comes, I can share some wonderful talks, and hugs with my precious momma, as she walks me home.

Denise, that was a beautiful! I had tears in my eyes just reading it! I had never thought about my Mom walking me Home! But I love that thought.
I was able to be a caregiver 15 years ago. I moved out of my bedroom and put my Mom in my room and I took care of her from March until her homegoing in July of "92"
Thanks for such a sweet post!
Love you!

but to speak of these things that we have seen and heard and witnessed in Him...
Your daily comments are often the voice given to the silent readers. The kindness you offer is warm and wonderful.I love to hear that your Mother spoke and carried on with the Witnesses. The film between here and there is thin. We are thick. When we thin to Him and His and abide in His presence He comforts that thickness, that hardening of our hearts then can melt melt away.

You have come a long way dear friend! God is so good. He knows our every need.

My mother was with her father-in-law when he passed away and she told me that right before he took his last breath, his eyes opened real wide and he had a look of pure joy and happiness on his face. I believe he saw Jesus and felt the Purest Love and was ready and willing to go with Him.

I love the stories families share with us... in the Hospice field...

We hear beautiful stories... from the loved one waving by, to kissing them bye, to hearing something fall - believing it to be angels... to someone reaching up to grab a hold of someone... oh the stories go on...
the important thing is as you say.. the peace transcends over all...
"My Peace I leave you"

Thanks for sharing your story

I love you
