In Other Words Tuesday

“Lower your expectations of earth. This isn’t heaven, so don’t expect it to be.”: This is not heaven on earth, so lower your expectations. So many people seem to think that we are living in some kind of utopia. Well, wake up, you are not on some perfect island, perfection does not exist. Why do people tend to seek out perfection? The perfect body, the perfect house, the perfect car, the perfect clothes, and on and on. None of those things matter, and they are not going to make you a better person. What about seeking a better heart & a better attitude? Instead of focusing on perfection, focus on taking your imperfections, and making them useful for Jesus. Keep your eyes on things above, not on earthly treasures. Heaven is a real place, so seek to make it your home one day.

"Why do people tend to seek out perfection?" You said it! We say, "nobody's perfect", yet we still try to be. UGH! Thanks for reminding us what is really important.

That really hit the core of this week's quote, Denise. Yes, we are imperfect in our current state, but because of it, we are His hands and feet this side of heaven :).

Blessings to you and yours.

Well said, succinctly. We all need a to focus on a better heart --more love less jugemental attitude.

I recently moved my blog and lost a lot or readers. Hope you get a chance to browse and comment on a few entries. I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
Robin

Wow! Amen, sister!! I love ".... focus on taking your imperfections, and making them useful for Jesus". So often I think about all my imperfections and get down. But if I would just let my mind soak up the concept that Jesus finds use in my imperfections, I would accomplish so much more for His glory. Thanks for the encouragement!

God Bless~

Your post reminded me of the Scripture:

"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong." 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
