This was beautiful and touching. Thank you! I'm not sure where my weight is right now, but hubby and I have been losing weight for a year now. He, through a very strict diet for medical reasons. Me, through no dieting, just eating less and being sensible, for the reasons you mentioned. I do not want my children to be insecure. I ate my way through the grief when my mother died. I'm on my way back down.

By the way, I love TN. If we ever had to move South (and that possibility exists) I would go there in a heartbeat. What a lovely state filled with lovely people, like you :). Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Good post, Denise. (and now I know why you're called 'Shortybear.' ;-)
You are so right about how we perceive ourselves. And the girls out there are trying to look like the emaciated models. So sad. To think that a size TEN is categorized as a PLUS is just disgusting! I was just asking my sweet hubby last night why it is that it's perfectly okay for men to have some pudge on their bellies, but NOT OKAY FOR WOMEN, at least that's what all the advertising tells us.(Fortunately, my husband is very loving and supportive, not critical) but I feel for those who strive to be thin and live with constant criticism.

Lord bless you today! You're probably going to get a thousand comments on this one!

Such a beautiful video, Denise.

I can so relate to the weight issue. I am slowly working on getting it off.

It angers and horrifies me that a size 10 is considered plus-size!

Praying for you and all your intentions.

Beautiful words. Well worth being a little late.

Your face radiates the Lord's beauty. I'm so glad to see it. There is not a single time I see your face that I'm not grateful to be looking at that. I waited so long to see you that I always see beauty when I look at you.

Thank you for that encouraging word, dear friend. I had better start on a diet right now, as the Gov is going to measure our obesity index or something like that. Unbelievable. Thank God whom the Son sets free is free indeed.

Shortybear,

Most people say I'm so tiny and for most of my life I have been so, with the exception of when I had Joshua and they had to give me a lot of medicine that bloated me all up. I was happy because for the first time in my life i had "boobs"! hahaha But you know, even though my body is little, my skin has been stretched and I have flab and cellulite just like the next person. i don't eat healthy and I hear comments all the time like "it must be nice to have to gain weight"...well, no, it's not. I've lost 5 more pounds. Illness is not fun. But I think what you said is key...little girls are watching us and we need to always be telling them how fearfully and wonderfully they were made and how beautiful they are!

I love you...beautiful shortybear!

You are not FEARLESS...mighty one.
Press on. You(we) are the temple of the Holy Spirit...He'll fit in any size. I love what Debra Kaye added to your wonderful words...AMEN! Let's not give anyone especially little eyes, lies of deception!!!
Praise God for the truth that sets us free.

This WFW is meant for you! Perfect header! Someone must have had you in mind as they designed this one.

So beautifully said sister Denise and this is a powerful truth! What the world considers beautiful is far from what it means from His eyes. If I'm conscious now of my weight, it's because of health reasons, not to look good. It matters to me that my hubby accepts me and loves me the way I am. Much more so with the truth of how He loves and accepts us. The way we are. God bless sis and have a great weekend.

Denise,
That is so very true, I was looking at the pictures of us yesterday which I will be sending to you today and I was thinking you look wonderful, your weight has come down and your complexion is just radiant. I saw myself...overweight, tired, burned, bags under my eyes....I had just come back from an awesome vacation and meeting you was truly the best....I need help from the Lord though to portion my food and be more disciplined in exercising...it just seems I get so busy that taking care of myself falls by the wayside. I am glad the Lord loves me the way that I am. I love you sis, watch for the pics.

You are such an inspiration Denise. You remind me of my daddy, not just my heavenly Daddy, but my earthly daddy. He was so humble and kind and sweet. Thank you for you.
