This and That

Happy Monday my friends, so the week begins. This weekend flew by, zoom. Coco and I battled all weekend over her food. She is being very picky about her food. First, she would not eat it, unless I put a little bit of warm water in it, making it sort of like a gravy. Then, she refused to eat that any more. So, I put a little bit of milk in it, stirred it up for her. She liked that for a little while. Then, turned her nose up at it. Now, I am going to try one more thing. I am going to mix a little bit of canned food into the dry food. Hopefully, I will have success with that. I am experimenting with different things, and trying to become use to no more solid foods, totally liquids. It really is not that bad, just takes some getting use to. I found a recipe on face book for apple cinnamon water. All it requires is one thinly sliced apple, one cinnamon stick, ice, and water. I really like the taste of it. I am drinking slim fast shakes, and vegetables that I am juicing. Vegetables that I am mostly using: spinach, carrots, collard greens, lemons, limes, cucumbers, and tomatoes. I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon with my eye doctor. Praying for some good news about my vision, hope it has improved, even if it is only a little bit. Take care, and enjoy your week. Love, prayers, and huge hugs to all of you.

Boy, totally understand about the food thing. Marty, my son's beagle, went through a finicky phase. It didn't last - so best of luck with Coco's taste buds!

Praying for you as you prepare to have your assessment meeting - and as you face the pre-battle. I know God will strengthen you for all of it.

And glad to hear that the liquid diet isn't as awful as it might seem. I'm hoping that your body will adjust to it quickly, and that it will bring a relief from symptoms.

One last thing, thank you for all your prayers last week about the fire. We are home, and couldn't be happier! God worked a miracle...

GOD BLESS!

Haha. I have the same problem with Misty. I add a bit of chicken broth and she's happy with that for a while. But when I add bits of leftover beef, she loves it and eats all her food. Kevin always says that 'when she's hungry enough, she'll eat.' I know, but I like her to have something she thinks is delicious - so I add the bits of leftover beef. Makes her - and me - happy. :-)

Doggies can be finicky. Thankfully Daisy never is that way but she can have problems digesting. You might try adding green beans with the juic or chicken n rice soup. Make you some for lunch and leave her a little. I buy benefil for Daisy but have to stretch it. I cook rice every couple of days and she always gets a scoop of rice and green beans. I just started putting cooked carrots. When you peel and cut the ends off fresh ones give to Cocoa. I cook Daisy's first but you don't have too. I am just picky like that.
Good luck. Have a wonderful week.

Hi Denise.
(Sorry I have been MIA for awhile.)

Could it be the summer heat affecting her appetite?
Also, you may want to check her teeth and mouth to make sure there are no problems there...I had a dog with a sore in his mouth many years ago, he preferred water over food because it felt better on his gums where the sore was.
Praying for Coco and also for your vision and for your marriage.
Love you my friend,
Lisa

It's expensive, maybe your insurance would cover at least some of the costs if your Dr. prescribes it...
and that is Encore.

Coco is most likely picking up on your own issues regarding what you can and can't eat. My cats do something similar. A cat or dog will eat when they are hungry. I leave their food out for them and if they don't eat it right away, they will, eventually.

juicing, I've heard, is incredibly healthy.

Wishing you health.

I may try your water recipe...it sounds refreshing. Any idea why CoCo is not liking her food? Is it related to your new eating style?

That cinnamon water sounds like something I should try. I heard that cinnomon is good for diabetics too. I hope Coco likes her new food mix. I remember my cat used to prefer wet food to dry food.
